Joanna Carter, OD, is an optometrist with an emphasis in vision therapy and neuro-optometric rehabilitation. Since opening InSight Vision Therapy in 2016, Dr. Carter has lectured in 50+ locations locally, nationally, and internationally, sharing practical clinical insights with doctors and therapists across the profession. In 2017, she founded VTODs on Facebook, a professional community where optometrists and vision therapists collaborate on cases, treatment strategies, and clinical problem-solving. Dr. Carter is especially passionate about helping doctors build confidence in binocular vision care, vision therapy case management, and real-world implementation in practice.
Miki Lyn Zilnicki, OD, FCOVD, graduated with honors from the SUNY College of Optometry in New York, where she received the VSP Excellence in Primary Care Award and the Excellence in Vision Therapy Award. She went on to complete a residency in vision therapy and rehabilitation with Dr. Barry Tannen, OD, further strengthening her expertise in functional vision care. Dr. Zilnicki has extensive experience in family eye care, with a special passion for pediatrics, vision training, and neuro-rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury patients. She is an active member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and serves as the representative writer for vision therapy, reflecting her ongoing commitment to education and advocacy in the field.
